1.Payment Methods

Our preferred method of payment is through Blue Fin’s secure and easy to use online portal at www.bluefinswimschool.com and our direct debit system – credit card only (Visa and Mastercard). 

2.Direct Debit System 

Direct debit is processed every term, approximately four weeks in advance of lessons. You will be emailed and texted direct debit transaction date. 

When you sign up for a direct debit, you are committing to the term. 

If you will not be returning for the following term and wish to cancel your swimming lessons at the end of the current term, written notification is required before the due date. Please email admin@bluefinswim.com

DIRECT DEBIT FAILURE

Please ensure you have sufficient funds in your account on the date of the direct debit. 

You will be notified over email if you have a declined debit, please ensure you make immediate payment via our online portal or at reception, otherwise we have assumed you have forfeited your term spot. 

3. New Enrolment

A new enrolment online profile must be completed with accepted terms and conditions of the Blue Fin Swim School, before the first swimming lesson.

We do not hold places or accept part payments.  Full payment is required to secure your child’s (children’s) enrolment.

You will be contacted if Blue Fin requires an assessment to determine your child’s (children’s) level before scheduling the first lesson.

4. Re-enrolment process

Current clients will automatically be enrolled for the next term, you will be issued with an invoice through your online portal; or you can ask Reception at Blue Fin for a hard copy of your Invoice.

To confirm your re-enrolment please pay your invoice before the due date.

If your Invoice has not been paid, Blue Fin will assume that you have forfeited your place and it will become available to clients on waiting lists.

If you do not wish to re-enroll for the following term/semester please notify Blue Fin’s administration staff.

5. Non-transferable

Lessons are not transferable to other people or family.

6. Failed/Rejected Payments

If payments are rejected, Blue Fin will notify you and an alternative payment must be made immediately.

7.Missed Classes Policy

To qualify for a makeup lesson you must give advance notice of your cancellation no later than 1 pm on the day of your scheduled class.

A maximum of three makeup lessons can be requested each term. Further make up lessons will require an official Doctor’s Certificate.

We do not guarantee makeup classes, they are only offered if we have space available in existing classes.

Makeup class credits are forfeited at the end of every term.

To arrange a makeup lesson please contact the office 24-48 hours in advance of the day and time you wish to schedule for.

If you do not NOTIFY us in ADVANCE of your cancellation you WILL NOT qualify for a MAKE UP class!

8.Cancellation Policy

If you wish to cancel your enrolment once you have made payment, and the class has already been booked and staffed, no refund will be given under any circumstances (beside medical, when a Certificate provided. – see Item 9 below).

9.Privacy Policy

​Blue Fin collects personal information from our customers and where our customers are children, their parents/guardians.  We use this information to:

  • provide swimming instruction;

  • administer our services; and

  • provide relevant information to you regarding our services

  • we may use this information to contact you regarding your child.  We may share this information with other parties in the Blue Fin Swim School but we will not share this information with any other third parties without your permission, unless when required to do so by law, in case of an emergency or in an act of good faith, in the interest of the well-being of you or your child. If you refuse to provide your or your child’s personal information to us, we may refuse to provide our services to you or your child.

The Blue Fin Swim School respects the privacy of the individuals of whom we collect, use, disclose and hold personal information.

10. Refund Policy

Blue Fin does not issue refunds for missed classes that have been missed by those participating. Swimmers are expected for the entire of the billed term and those wishing to terminate their enrolment early (before the end of the term), forfeit the reminder of their term payment.

11.Car Parking

In Port Melbourne, we have on-site parking at 4/5 Rocklea Drive, Port Melbourne.  

12.Swimming Attire

It is recommended that all students wear goggles and caps (except babies).  Students who are not trained must wear aqua nappies in the pool.

13.Teacher and classes changes

Blue Fin strives to maintain consistency with instructors, but unfortunately this is not always possible.  Blue Fin reserves the right to cancel or change classes and instructors or move students if need be. Trainee teachers will sometimes be helping the more experienced teacher; this will in no way affect your class.

Child Safety


Child Protection Policy

At Blue Fin we are committed to providing a safe and happy environment for all children and young people to learn to swim. This includes a culture where the prevention and reporting of abuse is supported and encouraged.

The Victorian Children’s Safe Standards and Swimming Australia’s Child Safeguarding policy confirms the shared responsibility that all members of the swimming community have to keep children safe.
